Intesync
provides a full range of EHR and practice management consulting
services, including project management, vendor selection, practice and workflow redesign, privacy and security best
practices, functional interoperability and health information exchange, and
progress
towards meaningful use.
Project Management Our consultants
provide end-to-end project management support over the entire work
process.
We lead the efforts in project planning, team
building, getting the practice ready for EHR and
other technologies, gap
analysis and resolution, practice and workflow redesign,
software configuration, hardware support, onsite
training and coaching, technical issue management,
and go-live support.
Vendor Selection
We
assist with needs assessment and focus on helping
providers find the best-value option for their practice.
The selection criteria include the opportunity to
provide the most improved quality of care, meet meaningful
use criteria, cost effectiveness in terms of operation
and ownership, ease of implementation, ease of customization,
and vendor ability to support and meet other practice needs.
We
are vendor neutral and will be objective with our vendor recommendation
services.
Practice and Workflow Redesign
We work closely
with providers to evaluate and redesign their practice
management and clinical workflows so that meaningful
use of EHR can be achieved. We use a mix of
job observation, in-person interviewing, study of
procedures, and EHR vendor templates to capture
existing workflows and converting them to EHR workflows.
Change management is built into the process to ensure
a smooth transition. Some of the workflows will
be new to the providers, e.g. e-prescribing, lab
ordering and resulting, and sharing data across
practice settings. We also assist with quality reporting
and providing personal health information to the
patients.
Functional Interoperability and Health Information Exchange
Our consultants
are trained in HL7 and application interfaces between
different EHR systems, labs, e-prescribing, PHR systems,
and Google Health. We are ready
to assist providers in connecting to any available health information exchange infrastructure(s), including local health information exchange organizations and state-based shared utilities or directory services in compliance with applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, patient preferences, and the California
State Plans for health information exchange (HIE) developed and HHS-approved under cooperative agreements issued by ONC pursuant to Section 3013 of the PHSA as added by ARRA.
Privacy and Security Best Practices
Intesync's
consultants work with providers to implement and
maintain physical and network security, user-based
access controls, privacy and security of personal
health information, and safe storage of backup media.
We work with CCHIT and various agencies to ensure
that state laws and regulatory requirements are
met by the providers.
Progress Towards Meaningful Use
We work closely
with California State and participate in their training
programs to enable the providers progress towards
meaningful use of health IT. We also check with
ONC, CCHIT, and CMS to ensure that their guidelines
are followed. We help providers prioritize their
attainment of meaningful use in key areas, e.g.
e-prescribing, as defined by the Secretary through Medicare and Medicaid regulations and guidance.
